Elemeno Health Wins First Place in JHF Healthcare Innovation and Safety Competition

OAKLAND, CA., April 27, 2021 – Elemeno Health, developer of a point-of-care solution for frontline healthcare practitioners, announced today that it has won first place in the prestigious JHF Healthcare Safety Challenge, awarded by Innovation Works and the Jewish Healthcare Foundation.

In the context of the biggest healthcare crisis in recent history, the competition attracted 125 submissions from 15 countries throughout the world, and awarded $25,000 to Elemeno for its customized, on-demand microlearning software solutions to today’s crucial healthcare challenges.

“We’ve seen our easy-to-use bite-sized guides reduce errors, increase efficiency, and reduce staff burnout,” said Dr. Arup Roy-Burman, CEO and Co-Founder of Elemeno Health. “Integrating our on-demand support directly into the average workday equips frontline caregivers to deliver the best care possible to every life they touch.”

In the constantly-changing world of healthcare today, frontline medical clinicians and hospitals are struggling to have the most current information they need, when they need it, at the point of care.  Elemeno provides just-in-time, bite-sized targeted learning on topics specific to each organization.

Medical errors, even prior to Covid-19, were the third leading cause of death in the United States, with 250,000 deaths a year attributable to medical error.  To address this emergency, Innovation Works and the Jewish Healthcare Foundation teamed up to offer the JHF Healthcare Challenge.  Technology has great potential to advance safety in healthcare. “We need this kind of bold thinking to address the persistent problem of medical error,” said Karen Wolk Feinstein, President & CEO of the Jewish Healthcare Foundation.

Using Elemeno’s microlearning solution, clinicians can implement patient care using the latest information, protocols, and procedures, which directly decreases the incidence of harmful events. The solution enables improved communication, education, and collaboration across disciplines, professions, and locations, resulting in improved patient outcomes at scale, and lower costs for providers.

“Our frontline medical staff are under tremendous duress, and we need to use technology to support them, equip them, and enable them to be their better selves,” said Dr. Roy-Burman. “We’re using technology to drive quality in patient outcomes, and empower staff to deliver the best care possible.”
