COOScott brings extensive experience leading both developed and early stage companies in healthcare as former Vice President at athenahealth and former Director of Account Management at Healtheon/WebMD. Scott is thrilled to be helping our clients radically improve the quality and safety of patient care.
VP of Sales & Business Development
Laine is a sales leader with a proven track record of delivering business results leading high performing sales teams. He is a hands-on leader with the ability to quickly identify issues, create executable action plans and drive a sense of urgency into the business. He was most recently VP of Sales for Appvance.ai and before that VP of Global Sales for 3scale, where the growth under his leadership led to an acquisition by Red Hat.
Carole A. Klove, RN, JD
Chief Nursing OfficerCarole has over 35 years of experience in healthcare as a nurse, an attorney (partner at Davis Wright Tremaine), a consultant (partner at Deloitte), and Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer at both UCLA and Stanford. Most recently, she led process improvement and governance projects at UCSF. Carole takes a practical approach to address healthcare operations, with an ultimate goal of improving systems and organization performance through innovation.
VP of Engineering
Steve has spent his career leading the development of web applications at startups, focusing on meeting the needs of customers with rapid development and iteration practicies. Prior to Elemeno, he built ground-up applications in the finance and contract hiring spaces, after building GSN’s first social gaming application, serving millions and establishing their west coast office.
Arup Roy-Burman, MD
Co-Founder & CEOPrior to founding Elemeno Health, Dr. Roy-Burman was Medical Director of the Intensive Care Unit and Director of Transport, Access and Outreach for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. He is a long term leader in efforts to improve outcomes in the inpatient setting, with focus on interprofessional workforce engagement and standardization of best practices.
Principal Software EngineerEric is a full-stack-and-then-some software engineer, with experience from databases to frontend development, drone avionics to web browsers, and filesystems to chip simulators.

Ann Scott Blouin, RN, PhD, FACHEDr. Blouin is former EVP of Customer Relations at The Joint Commission, with a client base of more than 22,000 health care organizations and programs, with operating revenues exceeding $250M. Ann has 30+ years healthcare administration, consulting, and clinical nursing experience. She has worked with multiple health systems to improve operating cost efficiency and effectiveness, revenue management, care coordination, and quality and patient safety. Ann is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives and serves on the Board of Directors of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. She is President and Founder of PSQ Advisory.
Christopher Olivia, MD, MBA
Dr. Olivia is former CEO of West Penn Allegheny Health System, an academic system with two tertiary teaching facilities, six hospitals and $1.8 billion in revenue with 13,000 employees. Chris initiated their merger with Highmark, which created the nation’s second largest integrated payer-provider system with $17 billion in annual revenue. He has 30+ years experience as a physician and executive, managing health insurance companies, hospitals, post-acute services, physician practices, technology and tech-enabled service companies. He recently served as CEO of VNSNY, the largest single market post-acute provider in the NYC region. As CEO, he also led the turnaround of Cooper Health System in NJ.
Mary Beth Navarra-Sirio, RN, MBAMary Beth is former Chair of the National Patient Safety Forum and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. She leads an Innovation Team for Philips HealthTech, developing product concepts through pilot to commercialization. Mary Beth previously served as VP of Product Management, and Patient Safety Officer, at McKesson. She started her career as a critical care nurse and progressed to leading the Critical Care, Anesthesia, and Pain Divisions at UPMC, where she was also instrumental in the development of barcode medication administration. Mary Beth is co-founder and principal of Sirio 2 Healthcare Innovations.
Gordon Tang, MDDr. Tang is Chair of the Dept of Surgery at Alta Bates Medical Center, where he also serves as Chief of Neurosurgery. Gordon has 20+ years experience in the care of adults and children. He has performed over 6,000 surgeries across a broad spectrum of medical systems, including Sutter, Kaiser, and John Muir. Prior to establishing his practice in the San Francisco Bay Area, Gordon trained at LA County Hospital/USC, Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard, and Emory University. Gordon has authored over 100 publications and presentations while receiving national awards for spine, cerebrovascular and socioeconomic research.
Ted is a Co-Founder of Launchpad Digital Health, a leading venture firm making early stage investments in companies transforming healthcare. Earlier in his career he held executive finance, operations and management roles at companies as CFO and COO. Prior to these roles, Ted was an investment banker for 15 years and was involved in more than 100 healthcare and technology transactions with an aggregate value of more than $6 billion. Ted has an MBA from UCLA and a BA from UNC-Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead Scholar.
Ed Nanale is Co-Founder of Elemeno Health. He is a veteran game developer who has shipped 20+ games at Lucas Arts, Maxis, and Electronic Arts, managing over 2 million online users. Having viewed the challenges of care delivery from the patient-family perspective, he is applying the lessons learned from building engaging games toward making hospitals a better place for healthcare workers and their patients.
